MORTON manager Jim Duffy has signed a new deal at the club, keeping him at Cappielow until the summer of 2019.

It is a further boost for the Greenock club fresh from the 4-1 demolition of St Mirren in Saturday’s Renfrewshire derby.

Duffy won the Championship Manager of the Season award as he led Morton to the play-offs last season, and chairman Douglas Rae said: “He is an outstanding manager and very good with the players. He’s strict, he works them hard, but he’s a very, very fair man. A top guy. I’m delighted.”
