HAMILTON are early into their season but Martin Canning is still dealing with old problems.

After a 1-0 home defeat to Aberdeen in the Betfred Cup, then a 2-0 loss to the side in the league opener at Pittodrie on Sunday, the Hamilton boss revealed he is on the hunt for two strikers.

Canning does not expect to have any new faces in for the visit of Dundee tomorrow but knows goalscorers are what the Lanarkshire outfit sorely need.

He said: “When you are playing well, as we have done, and we are getting opportunities we need to be ruthless. We need to take them.

“That’s something we’ve been looking at the last couple of seasons, getting those people at that end of the pitch who can take opportunities.

“That is not to criticise the guys we have got because they are doing a good job, Rakish Bingham is doing well for us as is Steven Boyd but we need to complement these players.

“We are speaking to a few and it’s just a case of trying to get deals done. Hopefully we can get something done soon but I don’t think in time for Saturday.”

Dundee lost 4-0 on their last visit to Hamilton and Canning said: “If we can perform the way we are performing just now and be clinical in the final third then we can win the game.”
