THE newly established Olive Jones Bridal has positioned itself as a contemporary bridal destination for modern brides.

Founded by Scottish entrepreneur Rachel Iravani, the Edinburgh-based store recently opened its doors on the city’s Dundas Street.

While it was always a dream of Iravani’s to open her own bridal shop, she began her career on a very different path, graduating from Aberdeen university with a degree in law.

It wasn’t until Iravani began her own search-for-the-dress that her dream turned into a reality. Finding it extremely difficult to source a dress perfect for a modern bride, she became determined to offer women a bridal experience that differs to other boutiques, and so Olive Jones Bridal was born. The store name was inspired by her mother’s maiden name, Olive Jones. Iravani also noticed that the letters can be rearranged to spell love.

Reflecting upon her ambition, Iravani says: “My aim has always been to curate a collection of dresses that are contemporary and sophisticated, for that bride who is looking for on-trend bridal wear without scrimping on the luxury appeal – a bride who strives not to dress as a bride, but to be herself as a bride.”

The stylish salon was designed with the modern bride in mind, offering a luxurious and contemporary shopping experience. Iravani adopts an appointment-only approach to her salon in order to create an air of exclusivity for brides and their bridal party.

To top it off, the salon also contains Processco on tap!

The salon differentiates itself from other boutiques through offering a combination of on-trend bridal gowns and classic cuts, high-end fabrics and modern styling.

The uniqueness of the store is also echoed within the brands the salon stocks, including Elbeth Gillis, Mikaella, Karen Willis Holmes and Augusta Jones. Iravani seeks to bring exciting new designers to the Scottish bridal market, both within her current stock and in her trunk show highlights. This allows customers to see new pieces straight from the catwalk.

Iravani says: “By curating a collection of dresses that are sympathetic in styling and in some cases exclusive in Scotland, I hope brides view Olive Jones Bridal as a destination of quality and style for their wedding day – from our bespoke appointments to our excellent aftercare, and our constant striving to bring the latest bridal trends to Scotland.”
