THE country’s booming cyber security industry will be back in the spotlight in November at the second Scottish Cyber Awards ceremony in Edinburgh.

Hosted by the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC), they will reward the most innovative work and thinking across Scotland, focusing on the positive aspects of what is becoming a critical industry for Scotland’s economic development.

Businesses, individuals and academics, such as Dr Natalie Coull from Dundee’s Abertay University – last year’s Outstanding Woman in Cyber (centre) will be recognised for their commitment to enhancing Scotland’s world-leading reputation in the fight against cyber-crime.

SBRC chief executive Mandy Haeburn-Little, said: “Cybercrime is a reality of modern life – with organisations of all sizes susceptible to criminal hackers. There is however incredible work happening on our doorstep and that deserves to be celebrated.”
