HOLYROOD will get a vote on the Brexit Repeal Bill, David Davis has confirmed.

Speaking in the Commons last night, the Tory minister said every part of the UK would need to “ensure it functions after we leave the EU.”

He added: “The Repeal Bill will give the devolved administrations the power to do just that and ensure a smooth and orderly exit for all.

“We expect there will be significant increase in decision-making power of each devolved administration once we exit the EU – that’s why, given that this Bill affects the powers of devolved institutions and legislates in devolved areas, we will seek the consent of the devolved legislature of the Bill.”

The SNP’s Stephen Gethins welcomed the confirmation.

Even if Holyrood votes down the Bill, it cannot block Brexit as Westminster has supremacy.
