SCOTTISH wild swimmer and YouTube star Calum MacLean is taking the plunge with a new series on BBC Alba to share his passion for swimming in remote lochs and rivers.

During the 10 short but exciting episodes, titled Into the Water/Dhan Uisge, he reveals some of his favourite places to swim in Scotland like River Douchary, River Garry, the islands in Loch Maree, Spar Cave on Skye, Loch Coruisk, Easdale Island and Sanna, Ardnamurchan.

MacLean has won fans on social media with his wild swimming tips, ice swims and vlogs, including a 60-second "midgie challenge" filmed on Skye.

He enjoys swimming outdoors, far off the beaten track, “alone with no living person to be seen” and said: “There’s a boom in wild swimming at the moment. It’s very popular now in Scotland and all over the world. All you need is a swimming wetsuit.”

His series will start on BBC Alba this Thursday, May 25, at 10.30pm.
