CELTIC won big at the PFA Scotland awards last night, with boss Brendan Rodgers and winger Scott Sinclair picking up the top prizes.

Manager of the Year went to Rodgers, who had been shortlisted alongside Aberdeen’s Derek McInnes, Partick Thistle boss Alan Archibald and Jim Duffy of Morton.

Rodgers has led Celtic through the domestic season unbeaten so far with three Ladbrokes Premiership games and the William Hill Scottish Cup final to go.

Sinclair was crowned Premiership Player of the Year. The Parkhead side’s Kieran Tierney was voted the best young player and Moussa Dembele collected the award for goal of the year.

In the Championship, John McGinn of Hibernian won the accolade for Player of the Year.

Rodgers, who won the League Managers Association prize in England in 2014, said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I have obviously been fortunate to have really good experiences and I was fortunate enough to win a similar award down in the Premier League in England, and that was very satisfying.

"And likewise here. It's a prestigious award and you only need to look at the people who have won it before me and the great history of Scottish coaches. I received it with great pride.

"I am very privileged and honoured to be working up here and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time."

The Scotland women's national team collected a special merit award after qualifying for this summer's European Championship finals.
