CREATIVE agency I’ll Be Your Mirror has gained recognition both nationally and internationally.

Founded by dynamic duo Kirsty Halliday and Stuart Truesdale in 2015, the Glasgow-based business specialises in areas such as styling and art direction.

Prior to establishing I’ll Be Your Mirror, Halliday studied fashion business at Glasgow Caledonian University and Truesdale studied media theory and production at the University of the West of Scotland.

The rising stars only came into contact eight years ago in the Che Camille design studio after which they went on to work alongside each other at Prada (Truesdale) and Miu Miu (Halliday) for five years.

Halliday and Truesdale combine their education, experience and own unique references to help clients produce fresh, modern and luxurious content for magazine editorials, look books, music videos and live events.

They say: “Our insight into the industry while working for major houses such as Belstaff, Prada and Miu Miu, as well as having a strong sense of our own style and viewpoint, means that we believe we can create imagery that has never before been seen in Scotland and help designers add a luxurious, curated edge to their brand.”

Originally launching as a styling agency, I’ll Be Your Mirror was inspired by Halliday and Truesdale’s observation of Scotland’s creative talents. The pair noticed designers, photographers and make-up artists reluctantly moving from Glasgow to major fashion capitals to succeed within the industry.

Halliday spent a year living and working in London but quickly realised there was no place like home and returned to Glasgow. The pair strongly felt that Scotland was being short-changed as the country’s creative graduates felt the pressure to relocate in order to progress within their field.

Unsurprisingly, I’ll Be Your Mirror was welcomed with open arms by the Scottish creative industry and the pair have quickly expanded their business to offer clients more services.

Halliday and Truesdale say: “What started as a fashion styling business soon progressed into art direction and creative project production and we are now regularly calling upon our vast network of industry talent to build the perfect team to suit a client’s needs, be it editorial or commercial, still or moving image”.

They are also set to open a studio space where they will continue to create and collaborate on projects.

Achieving an array of successes in just two years, the agency’s highlights include being mentored on set by acclaimed photographer Nick Knight and being selected by I-D magazine as one of its “20 ones to watch”. Receiving international enquiries from New York, Paris and Scandinavia is undoubtedly up there too.

The agency has also built up an eclectic portfolio, with work published in titles such as Feroce, HOPE ST and Atlas, as well as collaborations with brands including Sony and Columbia records.
