BIG-HEARTED Glasgow comic Kevin Bridges has donated his top from Soccer Aid 2014 to raise funds for the Tartan Army Children’s Charity.

The blue and white jersey will be one of the prizes at The National’s comedy gala on Sunday, February 19, at the Stand Comedy Club in Glasgow. Funnyman Bridges was in the line-up for the Rest of the World team who demolished England 4-2 in front of 70,000 people in Old Trafford. His top has been signed by other celebs who took part in the fundraiser, including Jose Mourinho, Andriy Shevchenko, Alessandro Del Piero, Clarence Seedorf, Edgar Davids, Robbie Williams, and Gordon Ramsey.

The kit is to be raffled off at the comedy night, with all funds going directly to the Tartan Army Children’s Charity, which helps disadvantaged kids at home and abroad. Currently the charity are working on their My First Scotland Match programme, where they buy tickets for children and young people who might otherwise not be able to to get into a game to see the national team in action.

Recently they have helped charities throughout Scotland including Ayrshire, Lothian, Glasgow, Fife, Perth, Dumbarton, Falkirk and Aberdeen, as well as in England, Slovakia and Malta, as well as Lithuania.

Some of Scotland’s finest comics have rallied round to support the organisation, donating their time to tell jokes at the gig.

Scott Gibson has already sold out his show at the Glasgow Comedy Festival. The comic recently won the coveted Best Newcomer award.

The Stand Comedy Club recently named Susie McCabe as their comic to watch in 2017.

A regular headliner and compere at the club, she was also the first person to sell out the venue for the Glasgow Comedy Festival.

Darren Connell will be familiar to many as Scot Squad’s Bobby, the hapless, wolf-fleece wearing star of the BBC’s hit show.

The Morrison’s trolley boy turned stand-up comic won plaudits at last year’s Fringe with his show Trolleywood. He’s doing an unprecedented four nights at the Glasgow Comedy Festival this year.
