EMERSON Hyndman admitted Rangers had to calm down after hitting the panic button when they were reduced to 10 men against Motherwell.

The match had barely kicked off at Fir Park when winger Michael O’Halloran was sent off for a stamp on Carl McHugh.

But Rangers survived an early onslaught and the numbers were evened up when Scott McDonald was dismissed for a late challenge.

The visitors went on to win 2-0 with strikes from Kenny Miller and Hyndman inside the last 20 minutes. The on-loan Bournemouth midfielder, who made his first Rangers start, said: “There’s always nerves when someone is sent off because you’ve got to change your shape sometimes and things can go against you “But we regrouped. It took a bit of time but once we found our feet we did quite well. I think everyone panics just a bit going a man down so early on. But once we realised we could keep possession quite well, especially in their half, and create chances, everyone calmed down.”
