AN EP of David Bowie’s final known recordings has been released to mark what would have been his 70th birthday yesterday.

No Plan contains three new tracks along with the single Lazarus from the singer’s final album Blackstar.

Bowie died on January 10 last year, just two days after celebrating his 69th birthday and the release of Blackstar.

The material on the new EP is taken from the same recording sessions that produced Blackstar and was included on the cast album for his musical Lazarus but has not, until now, been available on a stand-alone release. A No Plan video has also been released by Columbia Records.

Bowie’s widow Imam paid tribute to her late husband by posting a black and white snap on Instagram with the hashtag #BowieForever.

Record producer Tony Visconti was among the many others marking the star’s birthday yesterday. He tweeted a rare picture of Bowie at Berlin’s Hansa Studios in 1980 and wrote: “Happy Birthday dear old friend. Forever.”

Last night a special concert in aid of Children And The Arts was held at Bowie’s Brixton birthplace in London.

It was organised by his close friend Gary Oldman, who paid tribute to the singer at the 2016 Brit Awards.

Oldman was joined by musicians who had worked with Bowie over the years, from his Ziggy Stardust days until his death.

In another tribute, a David Bowie walking tour featuring stories, songs and anecdotes was launched in Brixton.
