TWO of the world's most iconic video game characters flipped their way through Glasgow ahead of Scotland's first ever Play EXPO event this weekend.

Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario (of Super Mario fame) parkoured through the streets of Glasgow past some of its most recognisable landmarks to promote the upcoming Play EXPO; a two-day celebration of video game culture through the ages that takes place at Braehead this weekend.

Andy Brown, MD of Replay Events, and the organiser behind PLAY Expo, said: "We're incredibly excited about PLAY Expo coming to Scotland for the very first time. Scotland is a hotbed of gaming talent and the community has continued to thrive in recent years, so it was a natural decision for us to head north of the border.

"We have already had huge interest in the event and are anticipating a full house over the two days. We look forward to welcoming everyone to PLAY Expo Glasgow, whether you're a hardcore gamer or simply looking to dip your toe for the very first time - it really is a great day out for everyone."

The event is expected to attract over 4000 people.Tickets for the event are available from http://playexpoglasgow.com/tickets priced from £8.00.
