THE FINALISTS for BBC Radio Scotland’s annual Young Traditional Musician Award have been announced. They were chosen after performing well at the semi-finals weekend last week in Lanarkshire.

The six chosen are: Mohsen Amini, right, concertina player from Glasgow; Jessica Burton, clarsach player from Orkney; Robbie Greig, fiddler from Edinburgh; Hannah MacRae, fiddler from Lochaber; Murray Willis, accordionist from Lismore; and Ryan Young, fiddler from Cardross.

The final concert at Celtic Connections Festival 2016 will be live on BBC Radio Scotland on January 31. Previous winners such as last year’s Claire Hastings, have used the award as a springboard to success.
