Amritsar to Shimla. Along the way he helps to feed people at the world’s largest free kitchen, and travels the railway routes used by millions of migrants during Partition. His route takes him through the Punjab, and at Kalka, he glimpses the Himalayas for the first time.

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer, C4, 8pm

SCOTTISH Conservative party leader and occasional politician Ruth Davidson gets her rolling pin out. She joins actor, comedian, musician and director Tim Minchin, Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing, and singer Ella Eyre to do Bake Off battle. They have to contend with a signature challenge, a fancy technical, and the showstopper, which involves meringue towers. Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood pass judgment, while Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig guide the celebrity contestants, and also offer shoulders to cry on for the runners-up.
