Earth’s Natural Wonders, BBC1, 9pm
DOCUMENTARY exploring some of the most inhospitable places on the planet concludes by shedding light on the lives of the Kamayura People, of Brazil’s Xingu Indigenous Park. For the Kamayura, pleasing the spirits is crucial to maintaining health, and during one key festival, a warrior must dance for hours to appease a bird spirit, sustained only by food and drink brought to him by villagers. In Ethiopia, belief drives the residents in Tigray to climb a 400-metre mountain to reach their church.
The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, BBC2, 9pm
ANDREW Cunanan, already a wanted man for four murders, arrives in Miami to stalk Gianni Versace. He charms a hotel clerk into giving him a room with a view, and befriends Ronnie. Meanwhile, Donatella Versace attempts to convince her brother to try her designs, a much darker vision than his styles, and the pair have a competition at his latest fashion show. Elsewhere, Antonio tells Versace he wants to marry him. Starring Edgar Ramirez, Darren Criss and Penelope Cruz.
One Born Every Minute, Channel 4, 9pm
NEW series. The award-winning documentary series moves to Birmingham Women’s Hospital, following the highs and lows of a new group of soon-to-be parents in the maternity ward. In the first episode, Samantha and her partner Tony, who struggled for years to conceive, return to the ward after losing their first child at 25 weeks. Meanwhile, 33-year-old Sharon and 44-year-old Rav come to the hospital expecting their second child together, and Rhiana and partner Lee hope for another textbook water birth for their second son.
Damned, Channel 4, 10pm
RUMOURS run wild concerning Denise’s personal life, but the main drama is centred on the missing files and the case of historic abuse. Never Mimi’s biggest fan, Nat has become convinced that Mimi (brilliantly played by Lolly Adefope) must be behind their disappearance – despite the fact that they went missing long before she even started working at the office. Matters come to a head when PC Harris throws the historic abuse case back in the Elm Heath court.
