The Dog Rescuers Special: 21 Dogs – The Big Rescue, Channel 5, 8pm

AS a nation we’re obsessed with dogs, so little wonder this series featuring QI veteran Alan Davies has been so successful over the years. Now it’s back for a sixth run and once more it profiles RSPCA officers – including Sarah Gardener, who enters one of the largest multi-dog households ever seen. Cameras also follow Anthony Pulfer, who attempts to help six dogs caught in a house fire in south-east London. and there’s a happy ending for two dogs left in the lurch by their owner.

Shetland, BBC 1, 9pm

AS the eponymous region is relatively small, there are only so many places killers can run – the airport or the coast. So Jimmy Perez has an easier job than some TV detectives. Or does he?

Considering the problems he’s faced over the years, one of Shetland’s most amiable detectives is beset by no end of bad luck, so hopefully he’ll get a break in the latest offering. The hunt is on for Malone’s attacker, Tosh investigates Forst Energy in the search for Sally’s killer, and DNA in the Kilmuir case yields a surprising result.

Benidorm Ten Years on Holiday, STV, 9pm

THIS special sees Benidorm’s creator Derren Litten talking about the show’s origins while guiding us around the real-life locations. There are also bloopers, behind-the-scenes footage and contributions from the show’s original stars, the Garvey family – aka actors Steve Pemberton, Siobhan Finneran, Sheila Reid, Ollie Stokes and Hannah Hobley. – who talk about their time in the sun.

FOR years the Weinstein Company and Miramax were film brands synonymous with quality productions. And then everything changed. UNDER criminal investigation in Britain and the US, expelled from Bafta and the Academy of Motion Pictures, Harvey Weinstein’s fall from grace has been swift since allegations of sexual abuse and harassment emerged against him last October. This documentary hears testimony from those who worked with him across 30 years of British film. and investigates how he kept his accusers quiet for decades.

The Archiveologists, BBC 2, 10.25pm

DIANE Morgan, who is probably best known for playing Philomena Cunk in Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe and a couple of solo spin-offs, gets to try out some new characters as she joins forces with comedian Joe Wilkinson for a series of five-minute parodies of vintage documentaries. Future episodes will tackle the Yorkshire Television Disco Dancing Championships, 1980s safety videos and a very 1960s take on the future of telecommunications services, but they begin with a look at Luton Library in the 1970s.
