PRAISE David Bowie and all the dead art rock gods, it’s finally here, the debut album from slick glam gang and actual Saviours of Pop WHITE.

Released last week on Kobalt, One Night Stand Forever’s 12-song party bag is also out on Benelux label Gentlemen Recordings. WHITE, like a good few Scottish bands, have a substantial following across Europe, and frontman Leo Condie and crew are likely wondering about the potential impact of “Brexit Chaos” on their touring schedule and distribution in future years. This was another missed opportunity during the EU referendum campaign: surely everyone needs to dance, Ukippers included. Still, those continentals know a good thing when they hear it: WHITE were booked to play a festival in Hamburg on the strength of their strutting debut track Living Fiction, and fans in The Netherlands have already welcomed them five times.

They’ve even been on the Dutch equivalent of The Daily Show, Condie’s falsetto and WHITE’s decades-leaping disco funk potentially discombobulating viewers after a sombre discussion on the political situation in Turkey.

The band are playing a tour of suitably sophisticated European citadels shortly, but look out for announcements of festival spots and dates closer to home.
