AYE2AYE Lochaber in Fort William will be holding its second A Better Scotland conference on the weekend of April 14 and 15.

As well as some top speakers on the Saturday and workshops on the Sunday, the organisers are laying on a ceilidh on the Saturday evening, proving yet again that the Yes DIY movement knows how to have fun.

A spokesperson for Aye2Aye Lochaber said: “The feedback we received on the conference last year is why we have added on both the ceilidh and workshops this year.

The speakers for the main event which runs from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, April 14, at Kilmallie Community Centre, Station Road, Corpach, include National columnist George Kerevan who will be speaking in his capacity as a journalist, economist, and former MP for East Lothian.

Penny Cole, the author and activist will speak, as will Laurie Macfarlane, Economics director at Open Democracy and Katherine Trebeck, Director of Research for the Wellbeing Economies Alliance.

Also speaking are Robin Macalpine, Director of Common Weal, who is always a welcome presence at Yes events, as is our very own columnist Paul Kavanagh who will be accompanied by the Wee Ginger Dug as always.

A homemade lunch, teas and coffees are provided. A donation paid at the door of £5 per person is requested in order to help cover costs.

Tickets for the evening ceilidh are separate as are the workshops on Sunday at the same venue.
