IN what is starting to resemble a Monty Python sketch it is interesting to see a breakaway group from the British nationalists of Scotland in Union.

The new UK Unity group have decided that their former partners obviously didn’t oppose Scottish independence enough so charted their own independent course to form their own group. It was a blast from the past to see that former Renfrewshire councillor David Clews is the leader of this new breakaway group.

Mr Clews was initially elected as a Tory then changed his mind and became Comrade Clews of the Labour Party – although that may be a bit harsh on him as he didn’t really change his mind, his move just highlighted that the policies of both the Tory and Labour parties are interchangeable.

I wait with bated breath for another breakaway group to form in the next few months!
