NEVER has been so much made out of so little.

The idea of a “new Act of Union” suggested by the Constitution Reform Group made of unelected lords is so pitiable that even they themselves must know they are on to a hiding here.

Politically, nobody in the Tories or Labour will allow this draft to get anywhere near becoming actual reality.

It is a crackpot idea dreamt up by lords with too much time trying to find a way of making themselves relevant in 2016.

If anything it is a further indication of the disconnect between Westminster, the House of Lords and the people who live in this country.

Yet again it is the Unionists who are talking about referenda and independence. This assertion that independence supporters are obsessed with self-determination at the cost of domestic policy is, yet again, nonsense.
