STIRLING is preparing to welcome world-leading industry experts for DigiDoc, a two-day tech conference.

Held as part of Historic Environment Scotland’s digital heritage festival DigiFest, DigiDoc will showcase ground-breaking tech designed to preserve the built environment.

The event, from October 11-12 at the Engine Shed, will feature talks from academics and industry experts from organisations such as Google and the Smithsonian Institution. Presentations will focus on advancements in the digitisation of heritage sites, such as a case study on a 3D model of the Four Well at Edinburgh Castle.

Dorothy Hoskins, Engine Shed technical outreach and education manager, said: “While advances in technology are allowing us to conserve, monitor and care for our historic sites and buildings with ever-increasing efficiency and effectiveness, these same innovations are also making Scotland’s heritage more accessible than ever.”
