JOHN Crabbie whiskies are returning to the Scotch market with the launch of two special limited releases.
The single malt whiskies – Crabbie eight-year-old and Crabbie thirty-year-old – are the first to bear the Crabbie family name since the 1970s, marking the return of one of the most famous brand names in Scotch whisky.
They were revealed at a Burns Supper in Crabbie’s native city of Edinburgh, and will be available in February.
It represents the first steps towards the return of continuous single malt distilling in the capital after almost 100 years’ absence.
David Brown, John Crabbie & Co managing director, said: “With the launch of the new John Crabbie Whisky collection we are honouring his legacy and ensuring his impact on single malts will be felt for years to come. John Crabbie led the industry with his eight-year-old blend. We thought it fitting that the first release of this new era should be a limited edition eight-year-old, brought up to date as a single malt.”
