AN airline has announced 200 new jobs for Scotland — split between Edinburgh and Glasgow airports.
The posts being advertised by Jet2.com include pilots, cabin crew and ground operation staff, as part of a wider recruitment drive across the UK, which the company hopes will fill 1,700 vacancies.
Jet2.com said it would host two recruitment roadshows in Scotland — one at the Normandy Hotel in Glasgow on September 12, and the second in Edinburgh the following day at the Holiday Inn.
The airline said its intention was to continue to expand its operations across the country this year, with a 13 per cent increase in capacity.
“It has been an exciting year for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, and we are delighted to be creating so many opportunities to join our award-winning teams at Glasgow and Edinburgh airports,” said Steve Heapy, chief executive officer of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays. “If you care passionately about looking after customers, we would love to see you at one of our upcoming roadshows and we look forward to welcoming you on board.”

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
