SPECIALIST kilt-maker MacGregor and MacDuff have launched a new product line in partnership with the Liberation Kilt Company featuring the United Nations-endorsed anti-trafficking Blueheart tartan.

People trafficking is the world’s fastest-growing organised crime, and the deal with the social enterprise comes ahead of Sunday’s UN World Day Against Trafficking.

The new product range, including ties, bridal ribbons and ring bearer cushions, will arrive this week in MacGregor and MacDuff’s flagship store in Glasgow’s Bath Street.

All products are handmade in Scotland and feature the official tartan of the United Nations’ Blue Heart Campaign against human trafficking, designed by Liberation Kilt Co and woven by Bute Fabrics. A fifth of the profits from the sale of Blueheart fabric go to the UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Trafficking in Persons, which supports charities around the world fighting modern-day slavery.
