ROPERTY consultancy CKD Galbraith has announced a significant expansion of its commercial property division. The firm is to provide a UK-wide specialist investment agency brokerage service led by two highly experienced practitioners in the commercial sector.

Jamie Thain and Will Sandwell who worked together for more than 10 years at GVA and James Barr, join CKD Galbraith as partner and associate respectively.

CKD Galbraith chief executive Pam Over said: “The appointment of Jamie and Will is a very exciting development. We have been seeking the right team to lead a brokerage service and we’re delighted to have secured two very experienced and highly regarded people.”

Based in Edinburgh, Thain and Sandwell intend to build the investment offering to clients across the UK. They will be supported by and feed into the wider commercial management, asset management and valuation business.

Thain said: “We are delighted to be joining CKD Galbraith and look forward to assisting with the expansion of its commercial division. This is a great opportunity to add additional investment capability to an already very successful commercial team within an expanding business.”

Sandwell said: “We are excited about advising a broad range of investors and maintaining a 100 per cent client-led approach to investment agency at CKD Galbraith. We have a strong track record as multi-sector advisers and will continue to exploit avenues for clients within a market which offers exceptional opportunities for commercial property investors.”

CKD Galbraith’s commercial division is led by Richard Higgins following the recent appointment of Over as chief executive.

It manages more than £450 million worth of property across the UK with a £6.5m rent roll as well as providing asset management, investment, valuation, facilities management, sales, lettings and acquisition services.

CKD Galbraith is an independent property consultancy employing 236 staff in offices across Scotland including Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, Cupar, Inverness, Castle Douglas, Ayr, Elgin, Galashiels and Kelso.
