THE Scots firm that helped create the wizard world of Harry Potter spin-off movie Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them aims to make real-life advances into North America thanks to a major investment.

Facial capture company Dimensional Imaging (D4ID) worked on the Holywood blockbuster, which sees English wizard Newt Scamander pursue escaped magical creatures in New York as a darker threat rises. The movie has made more than $800 million worldwide and now D4ID has revealed plans to expand into North America thanks to a £900,000 boost from Percipient Capital.

D4ID, based in Hillington near Glasgow, has also provided facial performance capture for game firms including EA and Valve.

Chairman Tim Christian said: “This will give us the financial strength and confidence to scale up significantly, invest further in the development of our already highly-advanced facial capture technology and to expand our operations.”
