MOBILE manufacturer Alcatel announced substantial growth figures that sees them take 10.5 per cent of market share in the UK.

Figures released from data analysts GfK show that the affordable tech brand, which underwent a global rebrand last year, holds this figure due to sales in the smartphone and featurephone sectors.

Last year Alcatel created a stronger connection to consumers by offering smarter products with superior design without compromising on price.   Hero products like the Alcatel Pop 4 won many global awards including Best Affordable Smartphone at the 2016 UK Isell awards, voted for by retail staff across the country.

The brand also entered the VR category last year with the introduction of the IDOL 4.
