SUPERMODEL Coco Rocha yesterday visited Diageo’s Cambus Cooperage, near Alloa, to help mark the inaugural International Scotch Day.

The coopers at the site – who make and repair the casks and barrels that the whisky is kept in – were given a glimpse behind the scenes at a photoshoot as Rocha posed against a backdrop of casks.

Diageo will today open the doors of its distillery visitor centres for free tours as part of International Scotch Day, while the public will also be given a rare opportunity to visit the Diageo archive in Menstrie – the biggest drinks industry archive in the world with a collection of over 10,000 bottles. This will be the first public open day at the centre, and a unique opportunity for whisky lovers.

Meanwhile, Rocha will be enjoying Scotch cocktails in some of Mexico City’s most vibrant bars. She said: “Personally, my favourite way to drink Scotch is a Johnnie Walker with ginger ale, but I’ll mix it up depending on my mood.”
